Historical Castle & Gardens Estate

Chilham Castle is a private residence with grandeur gardens located in countryside Kent.

The History of the House

Chilham Castle is built on the site of a medieval castle shrouded in mystery. The current Jacobean mansion, brought to life by Sir Dudley Digges, was built in 1616. Since then, the house and grounds have been lovingly restored, and offer sweeping views of the surrounding 300 acres of private parkland which includes an equestrian centre.

The in-house team of horticulturalists tend to the kitchen and formal gardens, originally designed by Thomas Heron and the world renowned landscape architect, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.
