We were lucky enough to be the first couple to hold our wedding reception in the exclusive grounds of Chilham Castle in 2007. We were after something unique that could represent something special and include our time traveling as a couple, the love of Asia and the Middle East specifically. Tessa and her family allowed us to arrange the whole event ourselves and it is thanks to their flexibility and understanding that we were able to bring on board our own suppliers, who imported yurts, tents, arranged florists, caterers and our fabulous Chinese Elvis! We really did have the party of our lives in its very own private beautiful setting.

As mother of the bride, I am still on cloud nine after the most wonderful wedding at Chilham Castle last weekend.
My daughter Jess always dreamt of getting married from home, but since downsizing, our garden would barely fit a tepee, let alone a marquee! Your glorious grounds made the perfect setting for the ultimate English country wedding.
We were very fortunate with the weather, but even rain couldn’t have spoilt the views or the feeling that we had stepped back in time.
The photos are amazing and will always be a reminder of a magical day.
Many thanks to everyone at the Castle who made us so welcome from the very start.

I would like to thank all the staff at Chilham Castle for everything you did to make our conference such a resounding success.
It goes without saying that our delegates relished your chef’s fabulous cooking at dinner, when much interesting conversation flowed. A wonderfully comfortable night’s sleep and hearty breakfast set everyone up for the day’s work ahead.
Being away from it all, beyond the castle’s gates, meant minds could focus without distraction and when people needed a breather, they were able to wander through the grounds for inspiration.
I would recommend Chilham Castle as a conference venue to anyone seeking privacy and peace within an hour from London by train.
